The Personal Care Product Industry

In the past several years, more and more attention has been focused on the dangers of many products that we use on a daily basis.  This in turn has brought a much needed awareness to the safety of the ingredients that are used to make many of the cosmetics (including bath products) we use daily.  More and more studies are finding links between the personal care products we use, and certain cancers along with reproductive problems. 

What many don’t realize is that they must look out for not only what they take into their bodies, but what they put ON their bodies.  Your skin, being the body’s largest organ, is just as vulnerable to dangerous chemicals as any of your other organs.  Luckily, many noble companies and organizations have recognized these dangers, and are working to create products that are safe to use. 

Unfortunately, there are still many health and beauty companies that opt for the cheaper route, denying or refusing to accept the dangers of many of the ingredients they use, in order to reduce their cost of production and increase their profit margins.  We at tweenBeauty support and respect many companies who take the higher road in the creation of their products, and encourage parents to try out many companies’ products, and encourage their children to do the same, to find products that are not only safe, but enjoyable as well.  Using your shampoo in the morning should make you feel wonderful, not only because it is free of toxins, but also because you enjoy the scent and the way your hair feels afterwards.  We created tweenBeauty in order to educate kids (and their parents) at the age when they are first learning to choose their own products, and ask for products and ingredients by name.  Our goal is to educate kids about ingredients, and product quality through a product that is fun and cool. 

We hope to create a generation of kids who demand products that are healthy, and don’t accept the further pollution of the world and their bodies.  Even if kids look at our website, learn about ingredients, and decide they like a different company’s product better, as long as that product is safe and gentle, we will consider ourselves successful.  Our desire is to create a generation of kids who, once they exit their tween years, will choose to continue using natural products, and never settle for anything less.
